Umbrellas are essential items in our daily lives. How to choose a good quality umbrella is very important. The following is a
guide specially written by CIT on how to accept umbrellas. We hope our guide will be helpful to you.
Umbrella inspection items:
1. Covering material: Check whether the covering material of the umbrella meets the relevant standards, such as using
materials with strong water resistance and good sun protection properties. Check that the covering is smooth and has no
obvious defects, tears or damage.
2. Skeleton structure: Check whether the skeleton structure of the umbrella is strong and meets the design requirements. Use
appropriate tools to perform a bend test on the frame to ensure it is not deformed, broken or loose. High-quality umbrella
frames are usually made of steel, aluminum or fiber, which provide better durability.
3. Handle quality: Check the quality and manufacturing process of the handle. The handle should have a comfortable grip and
be tightly connected to the ribs with no signs of looseness or breakage. Quality handles are usually made of rubber or high-
quality plastic to provide durability and anti-slip properties.
4. Opening and folding functions: Test the opening and folding functions of the umbrella multiple times to ensure smooth
operation and compliance with standard requirements. Check whether there are any lags, instability or other abnormalities
during the opening and closing process. In addition, check whether the accessories and connections during opening and
stowing are secure and reliable.
5. Windproof performance: Test the windproof performance of the umbrella to evaluate its ability to resist wind force. By
simulating environments with different wind speeds under the fan, observe whether the umbrella surface flips or whether the
frame is damaged. Also, check for reinforcements on the frame to improve wind protection.
6. Size and weight: Check whether the size and weight of the umbrella meet the specification requirements, and check with
the product description. Large-sized umbrellas should have sufficient structural stability, while lightweight umbrellas are more
suitable for portability. Ensures size and weight accuracy to meet consumer needs.
7. Logo and certification: Check whether the logo and certification on the umbrella are complete and accurate. Ensure that
product identification includes manufacturer information, product model, safety warning signs, standard compliance signs,
etc. In addition, verify whether relevant quality certifications exist, such as ISO 9001, etc.
8. Functional performance: Test other functions of the umbrella, such as UV protection, waterproof performance, etc. Use
appropriate test equipment and methods to check whether these functions comply with relevant standards and regulations.
2. Check points:
1.Check whether there are any missing parts of the umbrella (umbrella handle, bead tail, umbrella cap, umbrella cap
gasket, top sleeve, etc.);
2. Check whether the umbrella cap, top cover, bead tail, and other parts are easy to fall off;
3. Check whether the assembly of the umbrella is consistent with the sample. Check whether the color is consistent with
the sample;
4. Check the umbrella surface and ribs for cracks, damage, scratches, dirt, other miscellaneous water marks, etc. The seams
on the umbrella surface should not be detached or exposed, and there should be no defects such as skipped stitches or
broken threads. The stitch density should be no less than 15 stitches within 5CM. The pattern of the umbrella surface should
not have obvious misalignment. The umbrella surface should not have holes, the textile fabric should not have skipped yarns,
and the sum of the warp and weft threads broken at the same point should not be greater than 4 roots;
5. Check whether all the LOGO printing on the umbrella is clear and complete (including the outer packaging);
6. Check whether the size of the umbrella meets the requirements. Its size should not be smaller than the specified size;
7. Check the safe use requirements of the umbrella. The parts that can be touched during use should not have sharp angles,
sharp edges, burrs, or exposed wire heads that may harm the human body. If found, it will be judged to be seriously
unqualified and can be returned directly.
8. Other packaging methods, etc. all need to comply with company requirements.
