On May 23, 2023, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration Committee
approved the release of GB/T 42804-2023 "Baby and Child Products Loaded Soothing Devices"
General Technical Requirements" standard, which will be officially implemented on June 1, 2024. The release of this standard fills
the gap in standards for related domestic products and protects the healthy growth of children. Please follow the steps of CIT to understand the relevant requirements of the GB/T 42804-2023 standard.
Standard scope of application
Suitable for vehicles designed and intended to carry infants and young children at a certain tilt angle, driven by mechanical or
non-mechanical means, and capable of obtaining emotions by bouncing, rocking or swinging in any direction.
Emotional soothing products include baby bouncers, baby rocking chairs, baby swings and their combination or conversion
products.
It is also applicable to group 0/0+ child car safety seat products that comply with GB 27887 and can be used as a comfort
device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Relevant indicator requirements
●Physical and mechanical properties
Small Parts: Any part or component, whether intended to be removable or not, that is not fully integrated into the Small
Parts Tester.
Sharp edges and points: All protected areas should be free of dangerous sharp edges and points, and should not contain
dangerous burrs or thin edges.
Dynamic strength: After the product is tested for dynamic strength, it should not collapse and maintain its intended
functionality.
Folding locking mechanism: The locking mechanism should be able to prevent the product from accidentally folding
when the infant is inside the product and when the infant is put in or taken out.
Specific products: baby swings, baby bouncers, baby rocking chairs, etc.
● Combustion performance
Plush fabrics or similar plush fabrics cannot produce a surface flicker effect.
The flame spread rate of all textiles, coated textiles and plastic coverings should not exceed 30 mm/s.
●Electrical hazards
Live parts need to meet the relevant requirements of GB 19865-2005.
The electrical components of the product shall be powered by batteries and/or transformers or power supplies. The linear
power supply should comply with the requirements of GB/T 19212.8, the switching power supply should comply with the
requirements of GB/T 19212.8 and GB/T 19212.17, and the power supply voltage should not exceed 24 V, etc.
