Third-party on-site factory inspection for power tools. Our QC inspectors carry out full pre-shipment inspection at your manufacturer’s site following AQL sampling standard. We check carton marking, quantity, appearance, accessories, function test, no-load speed, noise, temperature rise and high voltage safety test. The whole inspection process will be recorded by camera. All defective items will be captured with photos and videos. A formal inspection report will be issued after on-site check, helping buyers control product quality remotely and avoid shipment risks.

Inspection Preparations (Before QC Inspector Arrival)

  1. Document verification: Purchase contract, product BOM, specifications, approved sample, packaging standard, AQL inspection standard and order quantity.

  2. Inspection tools: Caliper, multimeter, tachometer, insulation resistance tester, thickness gauge, noise meter, labels, camera / inspection camera for full-process video recording.

  3. Sampling: Random sampling per AQL standard. Samples shall be picked from different pallets of the whole batch instead of only top-layer goods.

On-Site Inspection Procedure

  1. Quantity & outer packaging check Count total cartons; verify shipping marks (model, voltage, barcode, origin, batch number) against order requirements. Check carton damage, moisture, collapse or leakage; confirm carton strength and strapping. Verify warning labels, CE / 3C and other certification marks.

  2. Unboxing & visual appearance inspection Check housing for cracks, sink marks, scratches, color difference, burrs and material shortage. Count accessories: charger, battery, drill bits, manual, warranty card to ensure completeness and no damage. Verify nameplate: model, rated voltage/power, IP rating with clear printing.

  3. Functional testing (Key Items)

  • Power-on test: Switch on/off, forward/reverse rotation, speed adjustment without stuck buttons

  • Running condition: No abnormal noise, vibration or excessive heat during idle running

  • For lithium-ion power tools: Charging & discharging test, battery protection function check

  • Fitting test: Smooth installation of chuck & connectors, no slipping or loosening

  1. Safety & core performance test (Critical for power tools)

  • Hipot / withstand voltage test to prevent electric leakage

  • Rotation speed test: Confirm no-load speed complies with specification sheet

  • Temperature rise test: Ensure housing temperature stays within limit after continuous operation

  • Protection check: IP dust/waterproof structure and reliable earthing

  • Power cord: Verify wire gauge, tensile resistance and intact plug

  1. Dimensional & weight spot check Measure dimensions with calipers; compare unit weight with approved sample to avoid material reduction.

  2. Inner packaging inspection Check color box printing, stickers and foam inserts. Confirm products are fixed properly to avoid shifting during transit.

  3. Defect assessment & photo/video archiving Classify defects: CR Critical, MA Major, MI Minor. Judge batch status against AQL. Take photos and close-up videos for all defective items. Record the whole inspection via inspection camera. Confirm defects on-site with factory representatives.

  4. Issue inspection report Compile data on site, including PO number, sample size, defect list, photo & video attachments. State conclusion: Pass / Rework Required / Reject. Submit report to buyer.
