Core On-Site Inspection Items
Our inspectors perform on-site Quality Control based on AQL sampling, ISO 2859-1, and ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 standards. Key inspection items include:
1. On-Site Safety Testing (Core)
Small household appliances directly affect user safety. Our inspectors use portable safety testing instruments at the factory, without sending samples to a laboratory. Tests include:
High-Voltage Withstand Test: Applies specified high voltage between live parts and accessible metal parts for 1 minute. Test voltage is generally calculated as “1000V + 2 × rated voltage,” typically around 1,500V for standard appliances and above 3,000V for heating appliances. Breakdown, flashover, or excessive leakage current is judged as a failure.
Grounding Continuity Test: For Class I appliances, applies 25A AC and measures resistance between the grounding terminal and accessible metal parts. The limit is generally ≤0.1Ω, with some buyers requiring ≤0.05Ω.
Leakage Current Test: Measures leakage current at 1.06 times rated voltage under normal operation. Class I appliances are generally limited to 0.75mA, and Class II appliances to 0.25mA.
Power & Current Check: Measures actual input power and current at rated voltage. Deviation from rated power is typically required to fall within +5% to -10%.
Overheat Protection Test: Simulates blocked vents or motor stall conditions to verify that the overheat protection device cuts off the heating or motor circuit within the required time.
Fuse Inspection: Checks whether fuses are installed as required, whether specifications match rated parameters, and whether they are accessible or replaceable. Non-compliant or shorted fuses are treated as critical defects.
2. Appearance & Workmanship
Housing appearance: scratches, cracks, shrinkage, deformation, color deviation, stains, bubbles, and flow marks.
Edges and corners: all accessible edges must be smooth, with no sharp burrs or flashing.
Buttons and switches: secure assembly, clear pressure feel, defined positions, and no jamming or accidental contact.
Power cord and plug: no damage, indentation, or twisting; plug type must comply with the target market; strain relief must be intact. Power cords should pass a 30N pull test without displacement or detachment.
Nameplate and markings: model, rated voltage/power, manufacturer, and warnings must be clear, complete, and correct.
3. Function & Performance
Switch and button functions across all modes.
Display and indicator functions.
Operation, noise, and vibration.
Temperature control and overheat performance for heating products.
Motor startup and mechanical protection for blenders, food processors, and vacuum cleaners.
Dimension, weight, and accessory verification against order requirements.
4. Labels & Packaging
Product labels: input voltage/current, brand/model, safety certification marks, and permanent markings.
Packaging protection: inner box, color box, outer carton, shipping marks, sealing method, moisture protection, and cushioning.
Carton loading check: no short packing, missing items, mixed models, or wrong items.
Inspection Methods & AQL Standards
We offer flexible inspection methods based on order size, product value, and risk level:
Pre-Production Inspection (PPI): Confirms the first article’s workmanship, function, appearance, and on-site safety testing before mass production.
During Production Inspection (DPI / DUPRO): Conducts sampling during production to identify and correct quality issues in time.
Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI / FQC): Performs AQL sampling inspection before shipment.
100% Full Inspection: For high-value, high-reputation, or precision electronics, each unit is inspected to ensure zero-defect shipment.
Our inspection follows AQL sampling, ISO 2859-1:2026, and ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 normal inspection single sampling plans. Standard stable orders normally use General Inspection Level II; new suppliers, first orders, and high-end orders may be upgraded to Level III. Mandatory safety items such as grounding resistance and leakage current generally use Special Inspection Level S-1.
| Defect Level | AQL | Judgment |
|---|---|---|
| Critical (CR) | AQL 0 | May endanger personal safety or make the product completely unusable. One defect leads to batch rejection. |
| Major (MAJ) | AQL 2.5 | Seriously affects appearance or function and likely causes customer returns. |
| Minor (MIN) | AQL 4.0 | Appearance defects that do not affect usability. |
Typical defect classification for small household appliances: high-voltage breakdown, poor grounding, excessive leakage current, non-compliant fuse, exposed live parts, damaged or exposed power cord, and missing certification marks are CR. Severe housing cracks, button failure, function failure, display failure, charging failure, detached power cord sheath, excessive power deviation, and overheat protection failure are MAJ. Minor scratches, rough surfaces, and slight color deviation within tolerance are MIN.
Inspection Process
Requirement Communication & Plan Confirmation: The client provides product details, target market, buyer requirements, and order information. We recommend applicable standards and provide a quotation.
On-Site Inspection: Inspectors arrive at the factory or warehouse and perform inspection according to AQL sampling or full inspection requirements, covering safety testing, appearance, dimensions, function, packaging, and labels. All findings are documented with photos and data.
Defect Classification & Judgment: Defects are classified as CR, MAJ, or MIN, with accurate counts and distribution.
Feedback & Corrective Action Follow-up: We immediately inform the factory and client, urge rework, replacement, or rejection, and verify corrective action before shipment.
Report Issuance: A bilingual inspection report is issued within 24 hours after inspection, with traceable data and complete photos.
