Kitchenware Inspection
Kitchenware & Kitchen Products Inspection: A Key Defense Line for Export Quality Control
Kitchenware is an export category with large order volumes, highly diversified product types, and high complaint sensitivity. Loose pot handles, poor lid fit, sharp burrs on tableware edges, cup size deviations, failed kitchen tool functions, unstable storage racks, and packaging damage—once these reach overseas markets—can easily trigger returns, negative reviews, platform delisting, and customer claims. Kitchenware comes into direct contact with food and the human body, and overseas retailers and brands enforce extremely strict quality control. Professional third party inspection China before shipment has become standard practice for export factories, cross-border sellers, and brand buyers.
As a China inspection company with CMA, CNAS, ISO/IEC 17020, and ISO 9001 accreditations, Guangdong China Inspection and Testing Co., Ltd. (HQC Inspection) provides professional product inspection services in China covering cookware, tableware and drinkware, kitchen tools, kitchen storage and organizers, and kitchen accessories. Our inspectors conduct on-site inspection strictly per AQL and ISO 2859-1:2026 standards—delivering full-process quality control in China from early production through pre-shipment.

Core On-Site Inspection Items
Our quality inspection in China services cover the following core items:
1. Appearance & Workmanship Inspection
Basic appearance: color shading, scratches, dents, bubbles, impurities, rust, and burrs. For cookware: non-stick coating appearance integrity (visual check for peeling, detachment, blistering) and base deformation.
Material appearance: metal parts for uniform surface treatment without rust; plastic parts for cracking, deformation, insufficient filling, or flow marks; glass/ceramic parts for scratches, bubbles, or chipped edges; wood and bamboo products for mold, cracking, or burrs.
Edge and chamfer treatment: all hand-accessible edges must be smooth without sharp burrs or chipped edges; tableware edges must be smooth without cutting feel.
Handles and connectors: handle-to-pot body and handle-to-tool head connections secure; rivets and screws without looseness, missing parts, or stripped threads; weld points full without weak welds.
Color shading judgment: batch consistency compared against approved samples.
2. On-Site Physical Performance & Function Inspection
Structural stability on-site check: shaking, pushing, and load-bearing tests for storage racks and shelving units—evaluating structural integrity and anti-tipping capability; checking whether all four feet sit flat.
Connector and fastener inspection: screws, bolts, rivets, and clips tightened properly without missing, wrong, or stripped assembly; drawers and doors open smoothly without jamming or abnormal noise.
Function operation inspection: repeated operation of pot lids, pressure cooker locking devices, knife folding, peeler/grater operation, kitchen scale buttons, and timer knobs—checking smoothness, locking reliability, and reset accuracy.
Dimension and capacity verification: using tape measures and calipers to measure key dimensions against nominal capacity values and order requirements.
Lid-to-body fit inspection: on-site testing of whether lids fit tightly, without wobbling, and can sit stably.
Handle security on-site testing: manual pull testing of cookware handles and tool handles to assess connection security.
On-site odor assessment: evaluating irritating odors. Products with obvious abnormal odors are directly rejected.
3. Label & Packaging Inspection
Label verification: product identification, material marking, origin information, applicable standard number, and safety warnings complete and compliant.
Packaging protection: inner packaging, outer carton shipping marks, packing quantity, moisture/vibration prevention, and corner protection. Kitchenware includes many fragile and scratch-prone products; inadequate packaging protection easily leads to breakage and scratches upon arrival.
Outer carton and packing verification: preventing short-packing, missing items, mixed packing, and wrong style shipment.
Inspection Methods & AQL Standards
We offer flexible production inspection service options:
· Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) — Confirming first article workmanship, function, and appearance before mass production
· During Production Inspection (DPI/DUPRO) — In-process sampling to detect and correct issues early
· Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) — AQL sampling before shipment
· 100% Full Inspection — Piece-by-piece inspection for high-value, high-reputation, premium kitchenware
Our third party quality inspection strictly follows AQL and ISO 2859-1:2026, with sampling plans per ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 normal inspection single sampling:
Defect Level | AQL | Judgment |
Critical | AQL 0 | Safety hazard or total unusability — 1 found = batch rejection |
Major | AQL 2.5 | Significant appearance or function impact — likely return |
Minor | AQL 4.0 | Appearance defects not affecting usability |
Typical defect classification for kitchenware: Accessible sharp points/edges, handle detachment risk, packaging material information mismatch = Critical; severe pot body deformation, loose handles, large-area coating peeling, structural cracking = Major; minor scratches, rough surface, slight color shading within tolerance = Minor.
On-Site Inspection Process
1. Consultation & Plan Confirmation — Client provides product details (category, material, target market), requirements, and order information; we recommend applicable standards and provide a quotation.
2. On-Site Inspection — Inspectors arrive at the factory or warehouse and conduct inspection per AQL or full inspection requirements, covering appearance, workmanship, physical performance, function, dimensions, capacity, packaging, and labeling. Full photo documentation and item-by-item data recording.
3. Defect Classification — CR/MAJ/MIN three-tier classification and precise defect counting.
4. Feedback & Corrective Follow-Up — Immediate notification to factory and client; rework, replacement, and re-inspection before shipment release.
