Home & Textile Products Inspection
Home & Textile Products Inspection: A Key Defense Line for Export Quality Control
Home and textile products are export categories with large order volumes, fast-changing styles, and high complaint sensitivity. Color shading, color patches, weaving defects, poor stitching, exposed thread ends, jammed zippers, size deviations, packaging damage, and incorrect set ratios—once these reach overseas markets—can easily trigger returns, negative reviews, platform delisting, and customer claims. Home textiles come into direct contact with human skin, and overseas retailers and brands enforce extremely strict quality control. Professional third party inspection China before shipment has become standard practice for export factories, cross-border sellers, and brand buyers.
As a China inspection company with CMA, CNAS, ISO/IEC 17020, and ISO 9001 accreditations, Guangdong China Inspection and Testing Co., Ltd. (HQC Inspection) provides professional product inspection services in China covering bedding, bathroom textiles, kitchen textiles, living room and decorative textiles, storage and home fabric products, and outdoor and functional textiles. Our inspectors conduct on-site inspection strictly per AQL and ISO 2859-1:2026 standards—delivering full-process quality control in China from early production through pre-shipment.

Stitching quality: uniform and strong stitching, no thread breaks, skipped stitches, or uneven stitches; neat edges, secure binding, no raw edges or unraveling; aligned fabric at seams without misalignment.
Printing & embroidery: complete and clear printed patterns, no missing print, color registration offset; full embroidery patterns, no thread breaks, skipped stitches, or loose threads.
Thread ends & cleanliness: no residual thread ends, lint, or dirt on finished surfaces; clean and neat thread trimming.
Color shading judgment: overall appearance color shading and batch consistency compared against approved samples.
2. On-Site Physical Performance & Function Inspection
Dimension & weight measurement: using tape measures and rulers to measure finished dimensions (length, width, diagonal) against order requirements; weighing filled products to verify filling weight compliance.
Filling uniformity check: for quilts and pillow inserts—hand-feel assessment of filling distribution, checking for clumping, voids, or uneven thickness.
Hand feel & comfort assessment: on-site evaluation of fabric softness, loft, and skin-friendly feel compared against approved samples.
Function testing: on-site operation of zippers, buttons, snap fasteners, hook-and-loop fasteners, and elastic bands—checking opening smoothness, locking reliability, and reset accuracy.
Structure & security inspection: manual pull testing of seams, quilting, and binding to assess seam strength and accessory security; checking set completeness and color/style matching.
On-site colorfastness simple test: using white cotton fabric for dry/wet rubbing tests on dark fabrics to assess color bleeding risk.
Needle detection/metal detection: needle detection for filled products to ensure no broken needles or metal residue.
Odor & mold inspection: on-site evaluation for irritating odors or musty smells; checking fabric and filling for mold spots.
3. Label & Packaging Inspection
Label verification: composition label, care label, brand label, size label, and origin label content accurate and complete; barcode scanning test for readability.
Packaging protection: individual packaging (polybags, color boxes, hangtags) compliant and complete; outer carton shipping mark information accurate; carton strength, moisture/vibration prevention in place.
Outer carton and packing verification: counting quantities carton by carton to prevent short-packing, missing items, mixed packing, and wrong style shipment.
Inspection Methods & AQL Standards
We offer flexible production inspection service options:
· Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) — Confirming first article workmanship, dimensions, and appearance before mass production
· During Production Inspection (DPI/DUPRO) — In-process sampling to detect and correct issues early
· Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) — AQL sampling before shipment
· 100% Full Inspection — Piece-by-piece inspection for high-value, high-reputation, premium home textiles
Our third party quality inspection strictly follows AQL and ISO 2859-1:2026, with sampling plans per ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 normal inspection single sampling:
Defect Level | AQL | Judgment |
Critical | AQL 0 | Safety hazard or total unusability — 1 found = batch rejection |
Major | AQL 2.5 | Significant appearance or function impact — likely return |
Minor | AQL 4.0 | Appearance defects not affecting usability |
Typical defect classification for home textiles: Broken needles/metal residue/safety hazards = Critical; large-area fabric damage/severe size deviation/incorrect set ratio/severe filling clumping = Major; minor thread ends/surface lint/slight color shading within tolerance = Minor.
On-Site Inspection Process
