Tableware & Drinkware Inspection: A Key Defense Line for Export Quality Control

Tableware and drinkware are export categories with large order volumes, highly diversified product types, and high complaint sensitivity. Chipped or kiln-debris ceramic edges, scratched or bubbled glassware, odorous melamine tableware, burrs and rust on metal cutlery, leaking or non-insulating vacuum flasks, poorly sealed food containers, and deformed disposable tableware—once these reach overseas markets—can easily trigger returns, negative reviews, platform delisting, and customer claims. Tableware and drinkware come into direct contact with food and the human body, and overseas retailers and brands enforce extremely strict quality control. Professional third party inspection China before shipment has become standard practice for export factories, cross-border sellers, and brand buyers.

As a China inspection company with CMA, CNAS, ISO/IEC 17020, and ISO 9001 accreditations, Guangdong China Inspection and Testing Co., Ltd. (HQC Inspection) provides professional product inspection services in China covering ceramic tableware, glassware, melamine tableware, metal tableware, food storage containers, disposable tableware, and vacuum flasks. Our inspectors conduct on-site inspection strictly per AQL and ISO 2859-1:2026 standards—delivering full-process quality control in China from early production through pre-shipment.

7. Drinkware & Vacuum Flasks
Stainless steel vacuum flasks, plastic water bottles, glass water bottles, children's straw cups, sports bottles, and vacuum cups.
On-site inspection focus: simple on-site insulation performance test (pour boiling water into the flask, tighten the lid, wait 2–3 minutes, then touch the body—if warm, the vacuum has failed), sealing inspection (tighten stopper and lid, place flat on a table, check for leaks; lid-to-mouth threading should be smooth without gaps), capacity verification, appearance (scratches, color shading, dents, rust), inner liner inspection, lid/seal ring inspection (burrs, deformation, aging signs), handle/strap connection security, and mouth edge smoothness.

Core On-Site Inspection Items

Our quality inspection in China services cover the following core items:

1. Appearance & Workmanship Inspection

Basic appearance: color shading, scratches, dents, bubbles, impurities, rust, burrs, and stains. For ceramic tableware: pinholes, kiln debris, color spots, and crazing. For glassware: scratches, bubbles, ripples, and chipped edges.

Edge and chamfer treatment: all hand-accessible and mouth-accessible edges must be smooth without sharp burrs or chipped edges; ceramic edges must be smooth without cutting feel; metal edges must be burr-free.

Shape regularity: ceramic tableware for deformation, misaligned spouts/handles, and uneven bases; glassware for shape alignment; melamine tableware for warping and deformation.

Surface treatment: metal tableware for uniform polishing/brushing/spraying; ceramic tableware for glaze gloss and whiteness; glassware for transparency.

Color shading judgment: batch consistency compared against approved samples.

Seal inspection: for food containers and vacuum flasks—checking seal rings for burrs, deformation, and aging; checking seal ring-to-lid fit tightness.

2. On-Site Physical Performance & Function Inspection

Sealing on-site testing: food containers and vacuum flasks closed and inverted or placed flat to check for leaks.

Insulation performance on-site testing: vacuum flasks filled with hot water and sealed; after several minutes, touch the body to assess insulation.

Lid opening and locking inspection: vacuum flask lids, food container clasps, and melamine lids operated repeatedly—checking smoothness, locking reliability, and reset accuracy.

Drop performance on-site testing: simple drop tests for melamine and disposable tableware—checking for breakage or cracking.

Load-bearing performance inspection: simple load tests for disposable and melamine tableware—evaluating load capacity.

Lid folding performance inspection: for products with lids—on-site folding tests to check hinge areas for cracking.

Glass thermal shock on-site simple test: simple thermal shock testing for glass products—checking for cracking.

Dimension and capacity verification: using tape measures, calipers, and measuring cups to measure key dimensions and verify nominal capacity against order requirements. Glassware dimension deviation should not exceed ±5% tolerance.

Vacuum flask sealing inspection: tighten stopper and lid, place flat on a table—no water leakage; lid-to-mouth threading should be smooth without gaps.

Structural stability check: shaking and pushing tests for multi-tier steamer racks and modular storage boxes—evaluating stability during normal use.

On-site odor assessment: evaluating irritating odors. Products with obvious abnormal odors are directly rejected.

3. Label & Packaging Inspection

Label verification: product identification, material marking, origin information, applicable standard number, and safety warnings complete and compliant. Vacuum flasks must indicate inner liner material and model; the inner stainless steel is typically austenitic stainless steel.

Packaging protection: inner packaging, outer carton shipping marks, packing quantity, moisture/vibration prevention, and corner protection. Ceramic and glass products are fragile; inadequate packaging protection easily leads to breakage upon arrival.

Outer carton and packing verification: preventing short-packing, missing items, mixed packing, and wrong style shipment.
